Girona and, especially l'Empordà, is famous for its gastronomy. It is the cradle of some of the best chefs in the country, such as Ferran Adrià, the El Bulli restaurant was in the coastal town of Roses until it closed on July 31, 2011, or the three Roca brothers: Joan, Jordi and José, who have converted his restaurant El Celler de Can Roca into one of the best in the country.
The gastronomy of Girona offers a great variety and quality in its products. The coast provides abundant fish and seafood; while the earth nourishes the kitchen with excellent vegetables, fruits and vegetables, beef and pork.
